The Pickleball Project

We are a volunteer organization working with Truckee-Donner Recreation & Park District to build public courts at the Riverview Sports Park.

Construction is estimated to cost $1 million+ for the courts, walkways, fencing, and tiered concrete seating.

Critical infrastructure - including utilities, parking, bathrooms, walkways to the courts and a covered pavilion - are already in place. All the park needs are pickleball courts!

Pave the Way to the Courts

Help us build this fun place to play pickleball in Truckee by buying a brick, starting at $350. We also have premier and supreme pavers for $500 and $1,000.

Craft your own message on your paver, which will be permanently displayed at the courts, for generations to come.

We Need Your Help

We have raised $665,000 in grants and private cash donations. We have also received $305,000 of in-kind donations to build the complex.

Please help us spread the word. Share our plans with anyone who is interested in donating to the cause. We have a variety of sponsor levels in addition to selling bricks to pave the way to success!

River View Sports Park

The Truckee-Donner Recreation & Park District designated land at its Riverview Sports Park (behind the bocce courts) for the pickleball complex.

The location is ideal. Centrally located in Truckee, the park is near Interstate 80 and off State Route 267. You can even bike to it on the Truckee trails!

The Dream for Truckee

We love pickleball because it brings the community together. With its drop-in format, players  meet new people and make new friends every time they play. In this unique and powerful way, the sport weaves the community together, building connections, and enriching our town.

In addition to drop-in play, we will have leagues, lessons, socials, after-school programs, and tournaments. The courts will be a huge addition to the fun and healthy lifestyle that make Truckee such a great place to live and visit.

With the Town of Truckee permit approval, the recreation district hopes to begin grading in the spring of 2024 and to have courts ready for play in summer 2024.

We can't wait to play pickleball with you at River View Sports Park!
